Our Story

Apex Motion Studio was founded in 2019 by creative director James Calloway and cinematographer Yuki Tanaka after a decade of individually producing work for global agencies — work they were proud of, for clients they rarely spoke to. They wanted something different: a studio small enough to know every client's brand story intimately, and skilled enough to tell it at any scale.

Since opening, Apex has worked with over 80 brands across technology, consumer goods, hospitality, and culture — producing work that has appeared on the Super Bowl, at Sundance, and in the feeds of 40 million people. The team has grown to 12 full-time creatives and a global network of directors, animators, and engineers.

We measure success in views, conversion lifts, and brand recall. But the metric we're proudest of: 91% of our clients have returned for a second project.
