Our Studio

Built on Craft, Driven by Vision

A decade of architecture shaped by the landscapes and communities of Southwest Colorado.

How Vaulted Line Began

Architect James Navarro left a large Denver firm in 2014 to start something different in Durango. He wanted to design buildings that belonged to their sites — not buildings that could exist anywhere. He founded Vaulted Line with a single drafting table, a dog named Blueprint, and a belief that great architecture should be accessible to more than just luxury clients.

Today the studio employs six architects and designers. We've completed projects from Silverton to Cortez, but our heart remains in Durango — where the mountains teach us something new about light, material, and space every single day.

What We Stand For

Site First

We design for the land, not despite it. Every project starts with a thorough site analysis.

Material Truth

Honest materials, exposed connections, structure as ornament. No faux finishes.

Client Partnership

We listen more than we talk. Your vision drives the design — we shape it into architecture.

Sustainable Practice

Net-zero-ready design is not an add-on. It's embedded in every decision from day one.
