Built in the Mountains, Poured with Purpose
Ridgeline started as a weekend experiment. Now it's Durango's backyard.
Ridgeline started as a weekend experiment. Now it's Durango's backyard.
Ridgeline Brewing Co. was founded in 2019 by Owen Vasquez and Nora Hallett — two ski patrollers who'd spent a decade drinking mediocre beer at altitude and decided to fix the problem themselves.
They started in a 1,200 sq ft garage with a five-barrel system and a single cold-storage room. The first batch was a dry-hopped pale ale that blew through 80 kegs in six weeks without a single paid ad. Word traveled the way it does in a small mountain town: mouth to mouth, trail to trail, table to table.
By 2021 they'd moved into the current 8,000 sq ft space on E 2nd Ave. They brought on head brewer Luis Montoya — previously of Telluride Brewing — and added a barrel aging program, a patio with a mountain view, and a food truck rotation that fills the parking lot every weekend.
The philosophy hasn't changed: use exceptional ingredients, control every variable you can, and make beer that tastes like Colorado.

Where the magic happens — from grain to glass.
Values aren't on a poster here. They show up in every batch.
We source Colorado barley when we can find it at scale, use whole-cone hops for dry-hopping, and never add adjuncts that mask a weak recipe. If it can't carry itself, it doesn't get brewed.
We host local artists, partner with Durango non-profits, and let the climbing club meet here free every Tuesday.
Spent grain goes to a local cattle farm. We recapture and reuse CO₂. Our packaging is 90% recycled.
812 E 2nd Ave. Open 7 days a week. Dogs welcome on the patio.
