How Grace Community Began

Grace Community Church started in a living room with 12 people who believed Durango needed a church that felt more like a family than an institution. Pastor Jim Hernandez led that first gathering with a simple promise: everyone is welcome, no exceptions.

Within three years, the living room group had outgrown two rented spaces and purchased the building on 3rd Avenue. Today, over 400 people gather each Sunday, but the mission has never changed — love God, love people, serve Durango.
