How Our Classes Work
Every Momentum program follows a structured, age-appropriate curriculum written by our artistic director Maya Reyes. Classes meet weekly across two semesters (fall and spring) plus a six-week summer intensive — with a Spring Showcase performance on the Durango Arts Center mainstage in May.
Class sizes are capped at twelve dancers so every student gets real corrections, real progress, and real time at the barre. Levels are placement-based, not age-based — meaning a fourteen-year-old who has been dancing since age four can train alongside her technical peers.
Tuition runs $95–$160 per month depending on class length. Multi-class and family discounts apply automatically.

Foundational classical technique on a RAD-aligned syllabus. Plié, tendu, port de bras, and the joy of pointing your toes. Two levels (Junior I, Junior II); placement by audition.

High-energy hip-hop, breaking, and street styles taught by working choreographer Devon Marshall. Includes the Momentum Crew competition team for advanced dancers.

Modern, jazz, and lyrical fusion taught by Cassie Walker (former Hubbard Street apprentice). Strong technique base required — this is where dancers find their voice.

Classic Broadway and rhythm tap for grown-ups. No experience required. Wednesdays at 7pm — bring your own shoes or rent ours for $5 per class.

Creative movement, intro ballet, and pre-tap for our littlest students. Forty-five minute classes with a parent-watch window each Saturday.

Private first-dance choreography sessions for couples in Durango and the Four Corners region. Three-session package, $295 — booked through October each year.

Maya placed my daughter into Junior Ballet II based on a five-minute audition and she nailed it. Three years later she's still here, still loving it, and now she's helping the Tiny Dancers warm up.
I took my first adult tap class at forty-three. Sara made the entire room laugh on the first night and still managed to teach us shuffle-ball-change before we left. I haven't missed a Wednesday since.
Devon choreographed our wedding first dance over three lunch-break sessions. Six weeks later we hit every count without a single bobble. Worth every penny and then some.
Try any program, any age, any style — no commitment, no enrollment fee. Just pick a date and we'll save you a spot at the barre.
