More Than Daycare

At Sunshine Kids, we believe the first five years shape a lifetime. That is why every classroom is designed around play-based learning — the method research shows builds the strongest cognitive and social foundations.

Our teachers are CPR-certified, background-checked, and passionate about early childhood development. With a maximum 4:1 student-to-teacher ratio for infants and 8:1 for preschoolers, your child gets the attention they deserve.

Age-Based Programs

Every program is crafted for where your child is right now.

Infant Care (6 wks - 12 mo)

A warm, quiet nursery with dedicated caregivers. Tummy time, sensory play, and lots of one-on-one bonding. 4:1 ratio.

Toddlers (1-2 years)

Structured exploration with art, music, and movement. Building independence through guided play and social interaction.

Preschool (3-4 years)

Pre-reading, early math, science discovery, and creative arts. Kindergarten readiness through hands-on learning centers.

Pre-K (4-5 years)

Advanced kindergarten prep with reading groups, number concepts, and social-emotional skills. Your child will be ready.

Summer Camp

Themed weekly camps with water play, nature walks, arts and crafts, and field trips around Durango. Ages 3-5.

Drop-In Care

Flexible hourly care for families who need occasional support. Subject to availability. Call ahead to reserve.
