Maison Lumiere was founded in 2021 by Cécile Moreau, a former interior designer who grew frustrated with the paradox of modern retail: endless options, almost nothing worth choosing. She wanted to build a shop the way she designed homes — with intentionality, restraint, and a genuine belief that what surrounds you shapes how you feel.
The name translates to 'House of Light' — a nod to the French design tradition Cécile grew up with and to the Durango light she fell in love with when she moved here from Lyon. Every product in the store is selected to reflect something true about its maker, its material, or its moment in the world.
We now work with 42 independent makers across 14 countries. None of them are on Amazon. Most of them are harder to find than they should be — and that's exactly why they're here.
