Our Story

Founded on a Better Model of Care

Dr. Daniel Morales and Dr. Amy Chen founded Summit Internal Medicine in 2016 after years of frustration with the 12-minute appointment model. They believed primary care should be thorough, unhurried, and built on genuine physician-patient relationships.

Today, Summit serves over 3,000 adult patients in the Durango area. Both physicians maintain active hospital privileges at Mercy Regional Medical Center and serve as clinical instructors for the University of Colorado family medicine residency program.
