Our Story
A Different Kind of Pharmacy
Summit Pharmacy & Wellness was founded in 1987 by Dr. Eleanor Marsh, PharmD, who believed Durango deserved a pharmacy where patients came first — not prescription volume. She opened with two employees, a handwritten ledger, and a commitment to know every patient by name.
Nearly four decades later, that founding philosophy drives everything we do. Our team of licensed pharmacists and certified technicians provides the same individualized attention Eleanor insisted upon — reviewing every prescription for interactions, calling patients about refills, and always answering the phone in person.
Today, Summit serves over 3,000 patients across La Plata County. We've grown from a corner dispensary into a full-service pharmacy offering compounding, immunizations, medication therapy management, and chronic disease support — without ever losing the community focus that started it all.
