Serenity Stone was founded in 2019 by Elena Castillo, a licensed massage therapist and certified aromatherapist who spent eight years studying bodywork traditions across Colorado, New Mexico, and Japan.
Elena returned to Durango with a single conviction: that every person deserves access to the same caliber of restorative care previously reserved for luxury destination spas. She opened Serenity Stone in a converted Victorian carriage house steps from the Animas River — a space as intentional as the treatments inside.
Today, Serenity Stone's six licensed practitioners serve over 400 recurring clients. Our waitlist is typically two weeks. We don't advertise — every new guest arrives through a referral, because our outcomes make the case better than any campaign could.
