Our Story

Rooted in the Mesa

40 acres, 4,700 feet, and a belief that Colorado terroir deserves world-class wine.

How Mesa Winds Began

Anna and Roberto Viana left careers in finance to plant 40 acres of wine grapes on Colorado's Western Slope. Everyone said they were crazy. The altitude was too high, the winters too cold, the growing season too short.

They planted anyway. It took 5 years for the first commercial vintage. That 2013 Cabernet Franc won a gold medal at the Colorado Governor's Cup and proved what the land could do.
