Sensei Daniel Kimura began teaching karate in a community center in 2008 with twelve students and a dream. A 5th-degree black belt in Shotokan and a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, he wanted to bring authentic martial arts instruction to Durango.
Today Iron Crane occupies a 4,000 sq ft dojo on 8th Avenue with over 400 active students, three full-time instructors, and a competition team that travels nationally.
