Founder Maya Nakamura studied for three years at an ashram in Rishikesh, India, before returning to Durango. She wanted to create a studio that honored the contemplative roots of yoga while welcoming modern practitioners of all backgrounds.
Still Point opened in 2017 in a converted space on 2nd Avenue. The studio’s minimalist design — warm wood, natural light, no mirrors — reflects the teaching philosophy: practice inward, not outward.
