How Ember & Bloom Began

Maya Torres spent six years managing specialty coffee programs in Denver before moving to Durango. She noticed a gap: a town full of outdoor enthusiasts and creative professionals, but no roaster doing single-origin justice.

She opened Ember & Bloom in 2021 with a secondhand Probat roaster, a La Marzocca Linea Mini, and a deep conviction that every cup should tell you exactly where it came from.

What Drives Us

Direct Relationships

We visit our producers annually. Fair pricing isn't charity — it's the only way to get the quality we need.

Seasonal Rotation

Our single-origin menu changes with the harvest. What's freshest is what's pouring.

Accessibility

Great coffee shouldn't be intimidating. We explain everything — origins, process, brewing — without pretension.

Community First

We host monthly cuppings, latte art throwdowns, and brewing workshops. Coffee is better shared.
